Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains what information we collect when you get in touch with us or visit our website, what we do with it, and what rights you have over it.

We're a small, sister-run painting and decorating business based in North London. We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone else for marketing purposes, and we keep things as simple as we can.

Who we are

Anna's Decorating provides painting, decorating and specialist finishing services across North London.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, you can reach us at:

What information we collect

We only collect information you give us directly, or that's automatically generated when you visit our website.

When you contact us or request a quote

If you fill in our contact form, message us on WhatsApp, email us or call us, we may collect:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Your address or postcode, so we can work out where the job is and travel times
  • Details about your project, including service interest, timeframe and budget
  • Any photos you choose to upload of the space or project
  • How you heard about us, if you tell us

When you visit our website

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool called Umami to understand how people use our site, for example which pages are popular and roughly how many visitors we get.

Umami does not use cookies, does not collect any personal information, and cannot identify you individually. It only records anonymous, aggregated statistics such as page views and general location at country or region level, based on IP address, which is not stored. Because no personal data or cookies are involved, we don't need a cookie banner on this site.

Our contact form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect the site from spam and abuse. Use of Turnstile is subject to Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum .

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

  • Reply to your enquiry and arrange a free home visit
  • Provide a written quote for your project
  • Communicate with you about ongoing or upcoming work
  • Keep basic records of jobs we've carried out, for our own accounts and insurance purposes

We will never use your contact details to send you marketing emails or texts without asking you first.

Our legal basis for using your information

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interests – to respond to your enquiry, provide quotes and deliver our services, which is the reason you contacted us in the first place.
  • Contract – once you've agreed to go ahead with a job, we need certain information, like your address, to carry out the work and invoice you.
  • Legal obligation – we may need to keep some records, such as invoices, for accounting and tax purposes, as required by law.

How long we keep your information

  • Enquiries that don't go ahead: we'll keep your details for a reasonable period in case you get back in touch, and then delete them.
  • Completed jobs: we keep client and job records for as long as required for accounting, tax and insurance purposes, typically up to 7 years, after which they're securely deleted.
  • Photos you send us: kept only as long as needed for quoting and project reference, unless you've separately agreed we can use them, for example in our gallery, in which case we'll ask you directly.

Who we share your information with

We don't sell or share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share limited information with trusted services that help us run our business, such as:

  • Email and form-handling providers, to receive and respond to enquiries
  • Accounting software, for invoicing and bookkeeping
  • Umami analytics, for anonymous website statistics only, as described above

These providers only process information on our behalf and are required to keep it secure.

We do not transfer your information outside the UK in a way that affects your rights.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct any information that's inaccurate
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it for legal reasons such as accounting records
  • Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information
  • Withdraw any consent you've given us, at any time

To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch using the details above. We'll respond within one month.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including using secure, reputable providers for our website, email and form handling.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right.

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

Changes to this policy
